Gaining Confidence in Self-Expression and Leading with Authenticity

"

I told my mom that I would love for her to just tell me she loves me more often.

As an Asian American growing up and asking your immigrant parents to say, “I love you” when their love language is feeding you., that was really vulnerable and hard.

She thought if she told me she loved me, I’d think she saw me as a “sissy,” but I explained that’s not how things work anymore. From that day on, we always tell each other “I love you.”
